Greg Arnold is best known for being the front man and songwriter from beloved Aussie folk-rock band Things Of Stone & Wood. The band’s top ten hit “Happy Birthday Helen” became a staple on Australian radio. In fact, it continues to get a spin and has even carved out its own space in the “new-school” world of streaming – quietly amassing over 5 million streams on Spotify.

At his core Greg Arnold is a songwriter and a musician. Whilst during his chart-topping hey-day he won an ARIA and was awarded an APRA songwriter of the year, he has never stopped making and being involved in music. He is a producer, a published author, an academic (earning a PhD in songwriting) and he is now releasing his fifth studio album In The Sky, recorded in Geneva, Switzerland.

Arnold has spent the last 8 years based in Switzerland, but that has not stopped him touring, releasing music and continuing to build his name as one of this country’s most valued songwriters.

Our Open Mic night is every Wednesday – the bar opens at 6pm, with performances from 7 to around 10.

The stage is yours! Giving songwriters and performance artists local and afar the opportunity to perform at The Junk Bar. We accomodate all styles and abilities .. solo acts, duos, jams and even bands. Surprise us! We supply the stage and sound and you bring the instruments and good vibes.

No prior sign up needed, just rock up in good time and our host Sean will slot you into the lineup.

Well, well, welcome to the Death by Birding podcast's first (and possibly last) ever live recording!!!

Get ready for a night of debauchery and chaos as we delve into the dark subculture of Bird-Watching.

Will I your host, Cesar Puechmarin, succeed in bringing the show to a live audience, or will you lay witness to my ruination as I collapse in a tear-soaked heap, crushed by the weight of my own hubris? For $20, you'll find out!

The show will be held at The Junk Bar in Brisbane on Thursday the 14th of December.

tickets are $20 presale + Booking fee or $25 at the door (subject to availability).

Doors will be open at 6:30pm with the show commencing at 7:30pm.

It will be an hour and a half live show, with 2 special guests TBA. The night will be recorded and the episode released at a later date.
